Reliance Jio Infocomm unified license smooths out 4G and voice service delivery

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has been proudly waving about its license to thrill – a pan India unified license which will allow the company to deliver all its telecom services under this permit. A subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), RJIL can now boast of having a single license for all 22 service areas in India.

The network operator’s claim to Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum across the aforesaid 22 circles means it can also offer 4G services in these regions. In fact, the company has been moving in this direction for quite some time now. RJIL and Reliance Communications (RCom) had previously announced a deal of Rs 12,000 crores between them. This would let the two companies share RCom’s telecom tower setup.

RJIL inked the unified license deal with the Government of India, Ministry of Communication & IT, Department of Telecommunication on October 21 of this year.
